Electrical Engineer
Description Electrical Engineer – Generation & Utility Systems Key Responsibilities Lead electrical engineering efforts for power generation facilities, including system design, upgrades, and expansions Design, specify, and manage medium- and high-voltage electrical distribution systems Serve as a technical lead for utility-scale electrical infrastructure projects from concept through commissioning Develop and review electrical one-lines, schematics, load studies, and protection schemes Coordinate with internal stakeholders, utilities, contractors, and regulatory entities to ensure successful project execution Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety requirements Provide technical oversight during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, redundancy, and scalability to support long-term growth Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline 5+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering with a focus on power generation and utility systems Proven experience designing and managing medium- and high-voltage electrical distribution systems Strong understanding of power generation facilities, utility interconnections, and electrical infrastructure Ability to lead projects and provide technical direction to junior engineers and cross-functional teams Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Skills Electrical, distribution, medium voltage, high voltage Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or mission-critical facilities Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and utility interconnection requirements Experience with commissioning, system start-up, or operational support Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure Experience Level Expert Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bastrop, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
