Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Description

- Contribute to the creation, documentation, and evaluation of diverse electrical and electronic subsystems used in automated testing platforms.

- Engage in hands-on design work involving: High- and low-voltage power electronics, Electrical power distribution and regulation systems, Control and automation circuitry, Circuit card assembly (CCA) layout and integration, Signal acquisition and processing techniques, Basic embedded software development, Mixed analog/digital circuit design and Custom cable routing and assembly.

- Develop and evaluate electronic solutions for underwater embedded platforms, data collection devices, and ground-based testing setups for maritime technologies.

- Utilize Altium for schematic capture and layout documentation of electrical designs.

- Operate with access to advanced tools and resources to support productivity and innovation.

- Generate and maintain technical artifacts including design specs, requirements documents, schematics, BOMs, mechanical layouts, and test documentation.

- Maintain detailed records of design iterations and revisions to support traceability and version control.

- Diagnose and resolve issues at both the component and system levels, ensuring functionality and reliability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware design roles.

- Experience in developing electronics for applications such as test systems, power conversion, signal amplification, filtering, and digital signal handling.

- Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout using industry-standard design tools.

- Skilled in hands-on prototyping, including soldering, cable fabrication, circuit debugging, and benchtop test setups.

- Experienced in using lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, waveform generators, spectrum/network analyzers, digital multimeters, and power supplies.

- Capable of interpreting complex electrical and mechanical system diagrams and associated technical data packages.

- Strong troubleshooting abilities using diagnostic tools to identify faults and implement effective solutions in integrated systems.

- Familiar with systems engineering workflows and milestone events.

- Comfortable engaging with clients to gather requirements, propose solutions, and provide progress updates.

- Able to simulate electronic circuits using SPICE-based modeling tools.

- Experience with configuration and lifecycle management platforms such as ARAS Innovator, Windchill, or SVN.

This is a Contract position based out of Middletown, RI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $170000.00/hr.
