Overview
We are hiring an Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and refinement of electronic hardware for a range of portable, battery‑powered systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on engineering, working across hardware and firmware, and contributing to real products in a collaborative environment.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, prototype, test, and support electronic circuits and embedded systemsCreate and maintain schematic designs, PCB documentation, and fabrication filesAssist with PCB layout (in‑house or through external partners)Support cable harness design and electronic interfacesTroubleshoot and improve existing hardware and/or firmware (based on skillset)Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teamsEnsure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturability expectationsRequired QualificationsDegree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience)Experience with either OrCAD or Altium for schematic designAbility to work with microcontroller‑based or embedded electronic systemsStrong communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative environmentPreferred / Nice‑to‑HaveExperience with PCB layout tools or managing outsourced layoutFamiliarity with embedded firmware developmentExposure to battery‑powered or portable systemsExperience in medical devices, commercial electronics, scientific equipment, or defenseUnderstanding of digital interfaces (USB, I2C, SPI, RS‑232)Camera sensors, data logging, or motor control experienceCable harness or interconnect designWork EnvironmentClose‑knit, family‑oriented engineering teamHigh collaboration across disciplinesBusiness‑casual environmentModern facility with ongoing growthOpportunity to have a long‑term impact as the engineering group scalesWhy This Role?Flexible on experience—great for rising talent or seasoned engineersChance to make an immediate impact in a growing organizationWork on meaningful, real‑world electronic systemsContract role with strong potential for extension based on performanceJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Ronkonkoma, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
