Electrical Engineer Overview We are hiring an Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and refinement of electronic hardware for a range of portable, battery‑powered systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on engineering, working across hardware and firmware, and contributing to real products in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities + Design, prototype, test, and support electronic circuits and embedded systems + Create and maintain schematic designs, PCB documentation, and fabrication files + Assist with PCB layout (in‑house or through external partners) + Support cable harness design and electronic interfaces + Troubleshoot and improve existing hardware and/or firmware (based on skillset) + Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams + Ensure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturability expectations Required Qualifications + Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience) + Experience with either OrCAD or Altium for schematic design + Ability to work with microcontroller‑based or embedded electronic systems + Strong communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative environment Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have + Experience with PCB layout tools or managing outsourced layout + Familiarity with embedded firmware development + Exposure to battery‑powered or portable systems + Experience in medical devices, commercial electronics, scientific equipment, or defense + Understanding of digital interfaces (USB, I2C, SPI, RS‑232) + Camera sensors, data logging, or motor control experience + Cable harness or interconnect design Work Environment + Close‑knit, family‑oriented engineering team + High collaboration across disciplines + Business‑casual environment + Modern facility with ongoing growth + Opportunity to have a long‑term impact as the engineering group scales Why This Role? + Flexible on experience—great for rising talent or seasoned engineers + Chance to make an immediate impact in a growing organization + Work on meaningful, real‑world electronic systems + Contract role with strong potential for extension based on performance Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Ronkonkoma, NY.
