The Electrical Engineer will play a pivotal role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing electronic sensing products, with a strong focus on low power circuit design, instrumentation, signal processing, and intrinsic safety compliance. This position demands hands-on circuit development, product upgrades, troubleshooting, and collaboration across engineering, production, and external partners—including contractors and component vendors. The role involves contributing to both sustaining engineering and new product innovation, particularly in next-generation methane detection technologies using optical and sensor-based systems.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop low power analog and digital circuits (3.3V / milliamp range systems). Maintain and upgrade electrical schematics, diagrams, wiring layouts, and system architecture.Support the development of methane sensing systems—including optical gas sensing, laser-based emissions detection, and legacy sensor upgrades.Assist in sensor R&D to enhance accuracy, response time, and product reliability.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.3+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing or instrumentation environment (gas sensing experience a plus).Strong knowledge of low power circuit design, sensors, and signal processing.Familiarity with intrinsic safety, electrical compliance standards, and hazardous location product design.Ability to design or interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams.Strong troubleshooting skills with both analog and digital circuitry.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with optical sensing, lasers, or other physics-based measurement systems.Background in gas detection, instrumentation engineering, or low power portable devices.Knowledge of embedded systems or microcontroller-based electronics.Familiarity with mixed signal design.Proficiency in Altium and schematic design.Experience with PCBA processes.Diligence and organizational skills.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is dynamic and collaborative, involving interaction with diverse teams and external partners. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $57.00/hr.
