Electrical Engineer
Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, data (low voltage systems, and lighting systems). You will perform electrical studies, including load, short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash analyses. Serving as a technical advisor in client meetings, you will define scope and deliverables, oversee construction administration and commissioning, and write observation reports while reviewing contractors’ pay applications. You will also support proposals and business development efforts, coordinate with mechanical and plumbing teams to integrate electrical systems into overall MEP design, and mentor junior engineers while maintaining QA/QC standards. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. + Active PE license in the State of Kentucky. + 5+ years of experience at a consulting firm. + Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical calculation tools. + Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects. + Ability to travel (10–20%). Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Revit and BIM. + Professional Engineer certification. + Consulting firm experience. Work Environment The work environment is office-based with flexible hours, offering core work hours but accommodating personal schedules as needed. The office comprises 8 engineers, each with their own office area, avoiding an open floor plan. The firm prides itself on team efforts, ensuring that no individual works overtime alone. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
