Electrical Engineer

Description

In this role you will play a critical role in designing, bidding, overseeing and executing electrical engineering projects. You will support Project Engineers and Electricians by assisting with the development of machine control concepts, project estimates, technical proposal content, and presentation of project concepts, as well as designing solutions for clients.

You will collaborate with internal and external customers to review and update technical objectives throughout the project life cycle and participate in system installations as needed.

Design and specify medium-voltage (5kV -35kV) and low voltage (120V-480V, 600V) electrical distribution systems, including: unit substation, switchgear, MCCs, panelboards, and bus duct systems; transformer specifications; and feeder sizing based on calculated demand loads, voltage drop analysis, and coordination studies.Design power distribution systems for industrial plants and manufacturing environments. These projects include but are not limited to power distribution, industrial automation, robotics, and manufacturing process projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited university, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, with a focus on medium voltage systems.

• 3–5+ years of experience in power engineering.

• Proven ability to make a day-one impact through design and project execution.

• Clear path or prior experience in power engineer acquisition, design, and project leadership.

• Exposure to control system design and commissioning activities.

• Willingness to invest time onsite early in projects to understand physical layouts and support commissioning and testing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
