Job Title: Electrical Drafter

Job Description

The primary function of this role is to create and modify drawings and models using REVIT software. The position requires a strong understanding of computer-aided drafting standards, practices, and techniques.

Responsibilities

Perform routine assignments requiring thorough knowledge of computer-aided drafting system standards, practices, and techniques.Create quick actions using the command language of the system to assist in drawing creation.Utilize mathematical knowledge in the preparation of drawings.Develop increased proficiency in system operations to boost productivity and learn how to use all software options.Review work orders and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of design.Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production processes, using conversion charts and calculators.Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

Experience in electrical drafting using 3D modeling software such as BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, and NavisWorks.Primary focus on drawing, routing, and declashing electrical conduit systems.Proficiency in drafting, NavisWorks, 3D modeling, AutoCAD, design, and blueprint creation.Ability to create Revit worksheets and understand the Revit work-sharing process.Ability to take verbal and written directions well and turn them into appropriate working shop drawings.Ability to manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions.Fluency in 2D and 3D space and understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the design team.Fluency with all plotters, printers, and reproduction systems used in-house or on the job site.Ability to import documents such as spreadsheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects.Ability to read and interpret 2D plans, both electronically and in hard copy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and drafting courses required; one to two years of technical training preferred.Working experience in electrical drafting or MEP preferred, particularly using Revit.General working knowledge of construction software including Revit, NavisWorks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.Skills above and beyond would include creating simple parametric families, utilizing shared parameters, creating schedules, and creating complex geometry.Ability to prepare copies and help make sets of documents for other parties.Experience in downloading drawings and information from the web, SharePoint, or project websites (FTP, etc.).

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and two days working from home. Employees are provided with seven paid holidays, vacation time, and sick leave as per accrual. Additionally, there is access to Udemy for professional growth opportunities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
