Summary: The Electrical Designer II designs and drafts cost effective, manufacturable electromechanical equipment and systems. This role will translate engineering design concepts into practical, producible drawings. Principal Accountabilities: + Confers with engineers and other designers to interpret design concepts, determines nature and type of required detailed drawings, and coordinates appropriate efforts. + Drafts detail and assembly drawings as well as electrical diagrams, using conventional instruments and computerized work aids and CAD design tools. + Analyzes specifications, sketches, engineering drawings and related design data to determine critical factors affecting components, based on knowledge of previous designs, manufacturing processes, and recognized design standards. + Prepares preliminary and final drawings adequate for manufacturing Universal equipment, and develops revisions to create practical design applications. + Works with manufacturing and procurement engineering during the design phase and during transition of engineering products to the manufacturing floor, to ensure that products can be produced efficiently. Minimum Requirements: + Associate's degree or equivalent vocational training in drafting techniques. + 3+ years of relevant CAD experience. + Relevant industry experience is preferred. Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality: + Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes. Physical Demands: + Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis. + Position requires the ability to understand and interpret detailed documents and drawings.
