Electrical Designer
Job Title: Electrical DesignerJob Description Join a dynamic team as an Electrical Designer in the Product Development department, where you will play a central role in defining, designing, and innovating the electrical architecture of standard product lines. This role involves creating scalable electrical designs that are standardized, documented, and manufacturable, working closely with product management, mechanical and controls engineering, manufacturing, sales, and applications to translate market needs into safe, compliant, and cost-effective electrical products. Responsibilities + Design and develop electrical power and control solutions for product families, focusing on performance, standardization, and configurability. + Define and maintain product-level electrical architectures, ensuring designs meet functional requirements, safety criteria, and performance expectations. + Create detailed diagrams and wiring schematics using industry-standard CAD tools, maintaining and improving drawing standards and documentation. + Perform load analysis, conductor sizing, and other electrical calculations to ensure safe and reliable operation. + Generate accurate Bills of Materials and select components considering availability, cost, and performance. + Take responsibility for electrical designs from concept through production as part of the New Product Introduction process. + Collaborate with sales, marketing, and applications engineering to understand market needs and develop product features. + Drive improvements to existing products by collecting feedback and implementing corrective actions. + Ensure designs comply with governing codes and standards, and support listing, labeling, and compliance activities. + Work closely with mechanical and controls engineers and provide technical support to manufacturing teams. + Support the development and execution of test plans for new products, incorporating feedback to refine products. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. + Over 3 years of experience in product or system-level electrical design, preferably in an OEM or industrial equipment environment. + Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN. + Strong understanding of electrical principles, power distribution, motor control, and relevant design calculations. + Working knowledge of applicable standards and codes such as NEC, IEC, UL, and IEEE. + Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot design and implementation issues. + Effective written and verbal communication skills. + Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with pump systems design is preferred. + Experience with water or chemical treatment systems is preferred. + Experience with IoT products is a plus. + Embedded software experience in C++ and/or assembly is a plus. + Python and JSON payload experience is a plus. Work Environment Work Monday to Friday with a start time between 6am-7am in an office environment with manufacturing collaboration for designs. No travel is required. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
