We are seeking an experienced Electrical Cable Harness Designer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will work on groundbreaking projects in the field of space robotics, contributing to the development of systems for both terrestrial and space applications.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare cable harness designs for space and terrestrial applications.Design cable mechanisms for rotary interfaces.Perform cable routing and 3D modeling.Prepare System Level Power, Grounding, and Bonding Architectures.Develop production, assembly, and parts list drawings.Understand client requirements and provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams.Essential Skills4-6 years of electrical cable harness design experience with AutoCAD Electrical.Ability to perform cable routing and 3D modeling.Experience with environmental testing and designing cables according to TVAC, thermal, EMC, and vibration design considerations.Ability to develop production, assembly, and parts list drawings.Understanding of cable design analysis such as Signal Integrity, Voltage Drop, Cross-talk, bend radius, and EMC.Knowledge of FMEA, SEE Criticality Analysis, Cumulative Dose, Radiation Effects Mitigation, and Charging.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with AutoCAD Electrical and cable design principles.Experience in aerospace, naval, or related fields.Strong understanding of signal integrity and IPC standards.Work EnvironmentJoin a dynamic team of about 95 engineers, with project teams ranging from 4 to 10 members. Regular working hours are 40 hours per week, with a minimum of three days in the office, specifically on Mondays, Tuesdays, and as needed, depending on project stages. Core hours are from 9 AM to 3 PM, with a business casual dress code. Our collaborative environment encourages team consultation and support, ensuring a collegial atmosphere where innovative ideas thrive.
