Job Title: Electrical Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Designer to join our team and support design and drafting efforts in a brownfield EPC setting. This role focuses on projects involving well pads, oil batteries, and pipelines. The successful candidate will develop electrical layouts and schematics, collaborate with engineers, and produce high-quality deliverables under tight deadlines. You will report to the Electrical Design Drafter Manager and contribute to multiple small-scale projects.

Responsibilities

Develop layout drawings, grounding plans, area classifications, and lighting layouts from plot plans and surveys.Design and develop single-line diagrams, MV/LV schematics, and VFD schematics from P&IDs.Create designs for contactor panels, lighting panels, and junction boxes, including schematics from P&IDs.Design I/O schematics and control panels from P&IDs.Ensure designs comply with company procedures, engineering standards, and applicable codes.Create 3D model cable tray routings and building/equipment layouts.Lead internal and external model review sessions.Collaborate regularly with multidisciplinary teams.Conduct site visits for data collection, audits, construction support, commissioning, and startup.

Essential Skills

10+ years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, and/or controls design within the oil and gas industry.Proficiency in AutoCAD (all variations), 2D drafting, and 3D modeling.Experience with small to medium-sized projects (5-40M).Material takeoff experience.Direct experience with oil & gas EPC projects.Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and API-500/505 standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with AutoCAD, BlueBeam, NavisWorks, and Microsoft Office.Experience with well pads, compressor stations, oil batteries, and gas plants.
