Electrical Design Engineer

Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for diverse applications.Create and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements.Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for proposed projects.Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues.Stay updated with technological advancements and integrate them into systems.Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for stakeholders.Conduct and participate in design reviews and technical meetings.Perform trade studies to select optimal solutions for design requirements.Support production, testing, and operation of equipment.Document engineering drawings, standards, specifications, and technical manuals.

Essential Skills

BS+ in Electrical Engineering or similar field.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.Proven experience in electrical design and development.Experience with reading, creating, documenting, and testing electrical drawings.Familiarity with software for electrical design, documentation, and analysis.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to manage time across multiple projects and meet deadlines.Capability to apply scientific principles, tools, and techniques for practical results.Proven ability to apply innovative approaches to designing, integrating, and testing.Track record of self-motivated project execution

Work Environment

The work environment includes a small space in the Air Dock with ground station units set up next to offices. The position offers remote and onsite work flexibility, with the possibility of needing to be onsite daily during certain project stages. Travel requirements are approximately 20%, which may include visits to vendor facilities or aerostat sites.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Akron, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $67.31/hr.
