Electrical Controls Systems Engineer Control Systems Specialist
Job Title: Control Systems Specialist Location: Bellevue, WA (Travel up to 40%) Duration: 7-Month Contract Pay Rate: $33.50/hr. (W2) Our client, a global leader in logistics and supply chain innovation, is seeking a Control Systems Specialist to join their Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Engineering team. This role plays a critical part in driving process innovation, optimizing material handling control systems, and enhancing operational efficiency across delivery stations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in control systems, cross-functional collaboration, and proficiency with AutoCAD. **Top 3 Must-Have Skills:** 1. Proficiency with AutoCAD (including electrical schematics/layouts) 2. Solid Control Systems Engineering background (Allen Bradley PLCs preferred) 3. Proven experience in cross-functional team collaboration **Key Responsibilities:** + Lead the design and development of control systems for complex MHE across the North America logistics network. + Interface between internal design teams and external MHE vendors to ensure compliance with specifications and codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70). + Manage multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously, coordinating with internal teams and vendors. + Conduct post-implementation reviews to drive continuous improvement. + Evaluate and recommend advanced technology for integration into MHE systems. + Review and manage project proposals and change orders related to controls and electrical scopes. + Utilize AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or Eplan to review and update schematics/layouts. + Collaborate on developing and updating design standards for global electrical/control system integration. + Troubleshoot and guide projects involving relay logic, Allen Bradley PLCs, IPCs, and Ethernet-based industrial networks. + Ensure alignment with functional safety standards and industry best practices. **Basic Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field. + 5+ years of experience in PLC-based controls design and implementation in industrial/logistics settings. + 5+ years of experience managing large-scale, multi-site projects. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Master’s degree in electrical engineering or Control Systems Engineering. + Experience in Operations Management or Distribution Center environments. + Expertise in Codey’s, IPC technologies, Ethernet networks, and functional safety standards (IEC 62061, ISO 13849, IEC 61508). + Hands-on experience with automated MHE, high-speed systems, and vendor commissioning. + Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and work cross-functionally. + Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills. Experience with PLC code development, software deployment, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Project, Outlook).
