Join our team as an Electrical Controls Engineer where you will design, coordinate, and execute electrical and automation projects to support our manufacturing operations. You will lead electrical upgrades and new installations, provide technical support both remotely and onsite, and identify opportunities for automation to enhance efficiency, safety, and energy savings. Collaborate closely with various teams to ensure all automated systems meet required functions and production needs.
ResponsibilitiesDesign large electrical enclosures, sub-panel layouts, and wiring diagrams in compliance with UL/CUL/CSA certifications and NFPA79 wiring standards.Perform Factory Acceptance Tests on large electrical panels and equipment.Develop and review electrical panel designs and conduct design reviews with the team.Write PLC, HMI, and Drive programs for assigned projects, demonstrating expert-level proficiency in PLC programming.Provide startup training on controls for production operators and plant maintenance personnel.Maintain software, programs, drawings, and files, ensuring they are current and accurate.Work with Operations teams to schedule, coordinate, and install equipment and upgrades.Create necessary bill of materials.Travel to various plants across the US and Canada with anticipated travel of 35%.Essential SkillsProficiency in PLC programming and controls engineering.Experience with Autocad Electrical for electrical design.Expertise in programming Allen Bradley PLC's Studio 5000.Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical engineering and automation systems.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Additional Skills & Qualifications3-5 years of experience working with Rockwell (Allen Bradley) PLC's and electrical panel design in Autocad Electrical.Willingness to travel 30-35% of the time.Work EnvironmentWork primarily in an office environment with travel to different plant locations across the country, including Columbus or Cincinnati. Travel involves one to two weeks out of the month with weekends at home. Initial projects are located in California, Illinois, Minnesota, and Mississippi.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $62.00/hr.
