**Job Title: Assembly Technician** **Job Description** The Assembly Technician plays a crucial role in the setup and operation of automated lay-up machines. You will be responsible for performing composite lay-up fabrication and assembly tasks using carbon fiber, fiberglass, and other lightweight materials, utilizing fabrication tooling materials and automated or motorized equipment. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate automated lay-up machines. + Perform composite lay-up fabrication and assembly tasks with carbon fiber, fiberglass, and other lightweight materials. + Utilize fabrication tooling materials and automated/motorized equipment. + Read and interpret electrical blueprints. + Conduct electrical installation and assembly. + Select correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, standards, and hardware to accomplish work statements according to planned operations. + Report job constraints, including errors caused by workmanship, defects in parts, materials, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc., following established procedures. + Prepare test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices for various tests. + Apply routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. **Essential Skills** + 3 years of electrical installation/assembly experience. + Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in electrical assembly, electrical wiring, and blueprint interpretation. + Proficiency in production techniques, hand tool usage, welding, mechanical assembly, and fabrication. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic team that supports the SLS rocket project for NASA, providing exciting opportunities for growth and development. Daily responsibilities include installing electrical components on the SLS rocket for NASA. The work will be performed across various areas of the NOLA site to support the SLS team's electrical needs. Comprehensive training will be provided upon arrival on-site. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of New Orleans, LA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $32.00/hr.
