Leads the configuration, administration, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN concentrator technologies supporting LAN, WAN, and secure remote access environments. Coordinates and executes network hardware and software upgrades, enhancements, and lifecycle replacements in accordance with established standards, policies, and security requirements. Monitors network performance, availability, and security using approved, industry-standard monitoring tools. Applies engineering design methodologies to develop innovative, reliable, and compliant technical solutions. Plans, documents, and oversees the implementation of network enhancements to ensure continuity of operations, scalability, and resilience. + Analyzes customer and mission requirements to develop and recommend technical solutions for complex network and communications challenges. + Designs, engineers, and implements secure communications and network solutions to enable interoperability and information sharing across multiple networks, including allied and partner integration platforms. + Provides senior-level engineering expertise to rapidly deliver technical enhancements to systems and networks in support of operational maneuvers, cyber threat mitigation, and intelligence mission objectives. + Develops and provides technical recommendations to support near- and mid-term project planning, execution, and capability roadmaps. + Leads the development and execution of network migration, deployment, and implementation plans, coordinating activities across engineering and operations teams. + Engineers new and optimized interoperable network solutions to improve performance, resilience, and mission effectiveness. + Deploys, sustains, troubleshoots, and repairs network infrastructure and IP-based detection and monitoring systems. + Performs network performance engineering, optimization, configuration analysis, and capacity planning to ensure reliability and scalability. + Provides system change support, incident response, and advanced troubleshooting for network and communications systems. + Evaluates current and emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies, providing technical recommendations to improve system performance and network optimization. + Supports rapid technical capability enhancements to strengthen cybersecurity posture and counter evolving cyber threats. + Researches emerging technologies and provides technical guidance and recommendations on specialized topics as requested by the Government. + Maintains current knowledge of assigned technologies, standards, and best practices relevant to the mission environment. **Experience:** Requires a minimum of ten years’ of experience, of which at least four years must be specialized experience in engineering, configuring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure. **Education:** BA/BS in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or business/finance. Education and experience requirements may be substituted with: A master’s degree (in subjects described above) and six years’ general experience of which at least three years must be specialized experience. No degree and thirteen years general experience, of which eight years is specialized experience. The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
