Ehs Technician
Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) TechnicianJob Description

The EHS Technician is responsible for supporting environmental, health, and safety compliance across a manufacturing facility. This role ensures adherence to OSHA, RCRA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements while promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. The technician will work closely with engineers, technicians, and the EHS Manager to maintain and improve safety and environmental programs.

ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with AQMD, EPA/RCRA, and CUPA regulations.Manage hazardous waste handling, storage, labeling, and disposal.Maintain accurate logs for hazardous waste, VOC solvent usage, and inspections.Conduct weekly stormwater inspections and implement plans.Order and maintain spill response supplies and equipment.Assist with waste shipments and environmental audits.Monitor hazardous material storage and labeling.Identify and correct workplace hazards and unsafe conditions.Monitor employee exposure to chemical and job hazards.Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and PPE assessments.Conduct safety training and emergency response drills.Perform safety inspections (e.g., first aid kits, fire extinguishers, fall protection).Support accident investigations and corrective action plans.
Essential SkillsCertifications: OSHA 40High school diploma or equivalent2+ years of experience in EHS roles within industrial or manufacturing settingsAbility to lift up to 30 lbs unassistedWillingness to work outdoors and in hands-on environments
Additional Skills & QualificationsCertifications: OSHA 10/30Experience with hazardous material response and stormwater mitigationFamiliarity with Microsoft Office and Windows OSStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage shifting prioritiesForklift Certified (Nice to Have)

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
