EHS Specialist I

Job Summary:
Accountable for administering EHS policies, procedures, and programs by coordinating EHS training, performing chemical hazard assessments, and supporting EHS initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinates incident investigations root cause analysis, corrective actions, and closure.Administer EHS training programs and perform EHS training.Respond to hazardous chemical emergencies.Assists in waste minimization practices under the direction of the EHS Management.Provide first aid and CPR on an emergency basis.May provide waste management and respirator fit testing services.Lead or participate in facility EHS inspections.Develop and deploy reusable sharps program with division.Working knowledge of federal, state, and local occupational safety industry regulations and guidelines (OSHA, EPA, L&I, other)Strong document management skills and attention to details.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.Strong problem solving/trouble shooting skills.Proficiency in computer programs/software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SAP EH&S, and SAP PM.Must have ability to plan, prioritize, and complete multiple priorities.Ability to self-lead tasks to completion.Must be able to work well in a team environment but also have the ability to work independently.Must have strong employee training development and presentation skills.Flexibility is key in this role as priorities change quickly. Must be able to move between tasks and projects on short notice and quickly change priorities based on customer and department needs, while meeting project deadlines.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in science or Technical Field, or 10 years of EHS related work experience in lieu of degree.
