EHS / Safety Specialist
Locations: Northern Indiana & Central Indiana

Travel: Daily to job sites within service territory/region
Compensation & Benefits:
$80,000–$130,000 base salary (DOE)

About the RoleWe’re seeking experienced Safety Specialists to join a growing utility construction team with a strong culture and people-first mindset. These roles will be critical in driving a proactive, safety-first culture while ensuring compliance across overhead electrical distribution and transmission projects.
As part of a fast-growing organization, you’ll have the opportunity to influence safety practices across multiple sites, work closely with leadership, and contribute to the development of field teams in high-voltage environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct field safety audits and site inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company standards
Lead safety meetings, stand-downs, and on-site training sessions
Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage; identify root causes and corrective actions
Maintain and update JSAs, hazard analyses, and safety documentation
Support compliance with DOT/FMCSA requirements for fleet and driver safety
Collaborate with supervisors, project managers, and utility representatives on safe work planning
Mentor and coach team members to build a strong, engaged safety culture
Stay current on industry regulations and recommend updates to policies and practices
QualificationsRequired:
2+ years of safety experience in utility construction, powerline work, or heavy industrial settings
Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910/1926 standards, NESC, and electrical safe work practices
Ability to travel daily to multiple job sites
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Preferred:
Field linework experience (strong plus)
Experience with overhead electrical distribution/high-voltage crews
Safety certifications (OSHA 30, CSP, CHST, USP, etc.)
Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA compliance
