**Position Description** : Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and project teams to enforce construction site compliance with company EH&S programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Lead training of safe work practices that educate and inform, and guide project teams on management of environmental and hazardous materials reports and conditions.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the project team in implementing the HSE Management System.
+ To regularly monitor safety standards and procedures in the project, and respond to emergencies and incidents in the facilities, providing advice in HSE-related matters.
+ Organize OHSE committee meetings, provide orientation & safety induction training to employees and contractors including Fire prevention, and Emergency response plans.
+ Make recommendations on the status of training and suitability of operators, Safety improvement requirements, hotspot areas where more attention is needed from Project Management team.
+ Establish, implement & maintain Emergency Response Procedures for various potential hazardous situations and conduct hazmat training programs
+ Monitor the timely submission of all reports and investigate work-related incidents with trend analysis for effective solutions and modifications to work methods or equipment to avoid the occurrence.
+ To provide advice and support to line management on safe work practices, conducting risk assessments and the appropriate control measures to be adopted for ensuring that operational risks are proactively and appropriately managed.
+ Drive HSE training needs analysis in the project, prepare training plans, coordinate/deliver in-house HSE training, and maintain training records.
+ To ensure all assessment programs are up to date, followed, Periodic audit conducted, follow-up of pending actions, and implementation of new engagement programs.
+ To ensure necessary environmental projects are taken to reduce the energy consumption to achieve NET ZERO by 2030.
+ Conduct safety inspections of work areas and prepare reports of observed safety hazards, violation of safety rules & regulations, for improvements of safety standards.
+ To ensure the efficacy of all emergency preparedness plans through regular mock drills and upkeep of all emergency procedures.
+ knowledgeable about how to prepare HIRA, JSA, and SOP and to be well-versed in ISO regulations.
+ ·knowledgeable with the statutory and regulations pertaining to HSE in construction projects.
+ ·Monitor, collate and analyse data for trend analysis & statistics to achieve continual improvement on all aspects of HSE and related training of personnel.
+ To ensure compliance with all Fire Safety related norms, upkeep of all Fire Safety appliances at all locations, implementation of Loss prevention techniques at all responsible locations.
+ Organize various HSE promotional programs, competitions, continuous awareness programs, S&E celebrations, safety awards, and toolbox talk to enhance HSE performance in the project.
+ Coordinate with local authorities and government bodies for mutual assistance during emergencies to mitigate the loss of life and damage to property.
+ Maintain the CIR / HAZARD/observation records on the GHSE Portal. Reviewing the observation and assigning the tasks to concerned persons. Ensure follow-ups and timely closure of all outstanding actions to avoid overdue.
+ Observe provisions of the labour regulations, relevant HSE policy & procedures terminal rules & procedures and contribute to the continual improvement process
+ Review and interpret environmental and hazardous materials reports and conditions, OSHA and EPA regulations specific to environmental hazards (e.g., storm water, mold, asbestos, PCBs, lead), inform EH&S leadership, follow Environmental Operations policy, and provide guidance to project team.
+ Develop and implement safety, health and wellbeing programs for benefit of entire project team.
+ Develop reports to explain project safety performance and present findings at project meetings and to relevant stakeholders.
+ Negotiate contracts with vendors for safety services, off-site occupational health facilities, and on-site wellness/medical services.
+ Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
•BE/BTECH/DIPLOMA engineering in CIVIL/ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL or equivalent or B.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry or equivalent.
•In addition to Industrial safety diploma, certified by the State Technical Board, valid for one year, or its equivalent with Minimum of 7 years of related construction safety experience.
•Working knowledge and application of safety/environmental principles and techniques
•Cross-functional knowledge of general construction operations
•Experience in incident management and response, ability to assess construction processes to identify known and potential safety related exposures and lead implementation of corrective actions
•Management experience with ability to delegate and direct work of others
•Professional verbal and written communication skills and effective presentation delivery skills
•Demonstrate interpersonal skills to build teams and professional relationships
•Able to work to in non-structured environment and flexibility to prioritize responsibilities for self and others
