POSITION Prerequisites:
Maintain safety related operational license valid and current to support the growth of trading business.Assist leadership to develop, review and implement management system for properly mitigating the risk of operation and compliance from the trading business of hazardous chemicals, drug precursors and explosion prone chemicals within organization.Provide EHS support to Commercial operations, Supply Chain operations, Technology and other functions in China.Chair safety committee meeting within organization.Drive Corporate EHS Objectives & Targets and facilitate periodical review and update.Implement Corporate EHS programs and monitor program effectiveness.Alignment of regional programs, policies and projects with global EHS initiatives.Communicate and influence leadership and staff to achieve good EH&S performance.Monitor EHS regulation change, identify and assess non-compliance risks and drive company zero incident and zero spill culture.Organize and deliver trainings to the staff within applicable legal entity.Organize safety activities for commercial team, i.e. customer site safety inspection, sales safety day, defensive driving training & assessment, JSA, fire extinguishing training, etc.Engage sales, equipment and other commercial leaders to improve safety awareness, visit customer site to conduct risk assessment and JSA, support commercial team on incident and near miss reporting, and investigation with root cause analysis tools, track follow-up actions to complete.Track and update EHS data on internal Velocity and external authority websites in designed frequency including incident, near miss, hazard ID and non compliance issue etc.Provide expertise to support the root cause investigation as request by internal program.Implement contractor safety management, support sourcing/PT to manage toller EHS requirements, maintain third party EHS programs including logistic vendors and external warehouses.Act as a contact window with local government related to EH&S.EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental or Engineering or Safety Engineering.Certificate on Safety based programs would be a plus.Be familiar RC/ISO/OHSAS management systems requirements.Good understanding of EHS regulations relevant to the chemical industry in China for example dangerous chemicals, drug precursor chemicals and explosion prone chemicals etc.5+ years of EHS experience in chemical industry, experience in chemical plant is necessary.TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Familiar with safety programs including chemical management, Hazardous Waste management, JSA, Behavior Safety, Fall Protection, Hot Work, Confined Space, Line Breaking, Lockout Tagout and Defensive Driving etc.Highly accountable: solution-, results- and action-oriented.Self-starter with ability to think and act independently and to make sound recommendations.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Fast learner with a flexible style and the ability to adjust to changing priorities.Create/improve safety culture for a matrix organization.Good verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Good skills of English reading and writing as well as Microsoft softwareWillingness to travel (20% at most).
