SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job)
Oversees all administrative aspects of the AHA Education and Simulation Training Center.
Serves as the AHA Education Training Center Coordinator. Provides administrative support for
scheduling, information management and personnel compliance for AHA Education and
Simulation. Develops healthcare educational activities which include issues related to health
promotion, prevention, maintenance, and restoration. Coordinates and maintains compliance for
AHA courses.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: National Registry or New Jersey Certified Paramedic (current or inactive) or Registered Nurse. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: One year of management or education experience plus five years provider experience. Simulation experience preferred
Other Credentials: AHA BLS Instructor, AHA ACLS provider (instructor preferred), PALS provider and instructor preferred, drivers license AHA faculty within 1 year
Knowledge and Skills: Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Previous experience in managing networks preferred. Knowledge of interfacing with cloud servers preferred. Ability to run audio and visual equipment as required.
Special Training: Class B CDL License required within I year of hire. Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Responsible for scheduling of Simulation and training center education courses and staff,
provides in class support to meet course objectives (teaching or remediating) when
needed.
· Coordinates and supervises the general operation of the Simulation Laboratory to provide
a wide variety of patient simulation experiences. Acts as the primary contact for
scheduling all departments and external clients utilizing the simulation center.
· Acts as American Heart Association Training Center Coordinator. Assures compliance
with all AHA rules and regulations as outlined in the current AHA Program Administration
Manual.
· Liaises with different groups and committees to plan various education and simulation
program activities. Develops subject matter expertise in the understanding and
functioning of simulation equipment. Supervises Simulation Technicians and
collaborates with simulation educator.
· Supports hospital system initiatives including committee participation, disaster
exercises, and other community events as directed.
· Manages inventory and oversees the purchase and maintenance of educational
materials, equipment, and supplies.
· Oversees the regular maintenance and repair all simulation equipment, including,
simulators, computers, monitors, and a variety of clinical medical equipment.
· Assists manager with monitoring budgets with regards to research on equipment
need and purchasing justifications and prepares studies and analyses of findings.
· Incorporates best practice and evidenced-based research in program
development with a focus on standardization and efficiencies across the
healthcare continuum.
· Works with interdisciplinary team to find research opportunities and grant
sources. Ensures compliance with hospital, departmental, and lab policies,
procedures, and safety precautions.
· Maintains current education and involvement in simulation community.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
