Job Requisition ID #

26WD95150

Position Overview

Autodesk Education Experiences (AEX) empowers the next generation of innovators by providing access to Autodesk software, learning programs, and certifications. We are seeking a Privacy Specialist to join a collaborative, cross-functional team focused on bringing those offerings to market for our education customers.

Autodesk is committed to protecting educator and student data while enabling powerful learning experiences. In partnership with teams including legal, platform and Trust, the Education Privacy specialist will develop repeatable, scalable processes and own/drive initiatives focused on ensuring the responsible handling of student and educator data across the Autodesk portfolio.

This role requires both program management proficiency and strong domain knowledge of education data practices (K-12, Vocational, Higher Education and other academic programs). The position is based in the United States.

Responsibilities

Represent the Autodesk Education (AEX) business in privacy discussions for education offerings and services: define scope, deliverables, timelines and success metrics for projects that reduce privacy risk and enable responsible product behaviour

Own, drive and report on contract and DPA negotiations across multiple internal teams to ensure consistency of approach and a level of urgency in closing out agreements with educational institutions, districts and Ministries of Education

Evolve and maintain education-specific privacy operational processes to ensure we work efficiently and collaboratively to enable access to our education offerings globally

Build training, awareness and enablement materials for education teams (privacy checklists, training sessions)

Track and report program metrics and compliance posture to Education Leadership; escalate risks and propose remediation plans

Minimum Qualifications

4+ years of experience in privacy, data protection, or related program management roles with demonstrable ownership of projects and operational processes

Knowledge of privacy regulations relevant to education: FERPA, COPPA (US), GDPR (and children’s data considerations), CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA and an understanding of regional student data protections

Familiarity with platform and developer artifacts: APIs, SDKs, LMS integrations (LTI/SCORM), data flows, and vendor ecosystems

Practical understanding of privacy considerations for AI/ML (training data governance, de-identification, model governance and ethical use)

Strong program and project management skills — able to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines, and communicate progress and risk

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to translate technical/privacy topics for product and business stakeholders

Ability to work independently and operate in a highly matrixed, global organization

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working directly with education customers, academic institutions or edtech products

Knowledge of LMS systems, education data standards and academic procurement/licensing models

Prior experience implementing data subject request workflows at scale, particularly for minors and parental/guardian consent processes

Certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CISSP or equivalent privacy/security certifications

Bachelor’s degree in privacy, law, computer science, education technology or related field

The Ideal Candidate

You understand the operational realities of schools, universities and academic programs as they relate to data and platform adoption

You translate regulation and risk into practical controls that enable product teams to ship responsibly

You partner effectively across Product, Platform, Legal, and Trust teams to drive decisions and program outcomes

You grasp the technical privacy implications of modern ML pipelines, model training and platform integrations

You build repeatable processes, clear runbooks and meaningful metrics to measure program health
