Job Description

What is the opportunity?  

We are hiring an Editor to develop and shape insightful thought leadership content. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the Canadian economy and the issues shaping our national agenda. This person’s strengths include writing and editing, translating data and trends, as well as digital-content creation and curation across channels. They are skilled at developing clear and engaging narratives from complicated economic and business research.

What will you do?   

Work with researchers and subject-matter experts to turn big ideas into insight-rich thought leadership contentProvide editorial advice and consultation and shape the narrative across a range of issues that shape our national agendaWrite, edit and produce multiple forms of content, including reports, articles, briefings and social postsPlay a key role in the crafting of a daily global news briefingManage newsletter and social media development and productionEnsure a high-quality and consistent standard across all material

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have 

A portfolio demonstrating exceptional writing and editing skillsA deep understanding of topics related to the Canadian economy (i.e. trade, energy, agriculture)Proven track record of success producing content in a fast-paced environment  Advanced storytelling ability

Nice-to-have   

Experience in business journalismExperience managing and growing social media and newsletter channelsExperience using CRM platforms (i.e. Salesforce)
