E&I Project Engineer (Major Projects)

Salary: £44.4k - £66.7k per annum (Dependent on skills & qualifications)

An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical & Instrumentation Project Engineer within our Major Projects Team in Scotland.
As a Project Engineer you will join a team of experienced engineers and project managers and be developed in the role. You will be supported by line managers and mentors following a training and development plan with potential to progress further.
You will be part of a team working to successfully deliver gas infrastructure projects including transmission pipelines and above-ground installations.
For candidates demonstrating sufficient relevant experience, there may be an opportunity to enter above the starting salary.
What does this role focus on?
Project delivery from concept to commissioning including planning, consenting, programming and records completion
Management and delivery of feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed designs
Onsite supervision and monitoring of construction activities
Compliance with strict health, safety, environment and quality procedures
Managing projects to meet programme and budget constraints.
Coordination of project related activities and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.
Implementing the SGN safety culture throughout the project lifecycle
Flexibility in terms of hours of work and responsibilities (you may also be required to visit locations around the UK for training or to support team activities).
What are we looking for from you?
A recognised engineering qualification and experience of working in an engineering, construction or gas / Petro-Chemical environment in an E&I field.
Construction and/or project management experience working on UK Gas distribution/transmission networks is desirable.
Educated to degree or HNC/D level in electrical engineering or a similar related discipline.
Computer literacy, experience of general Microsoft Office software, CAD and engineering related applications.
Ability to read, review, understand and create / compile technical reports.
Effective communication and influencing skills are essential to this role.
While not essential, ideally hold the following: City & Guilds 2391(Inspection & Testing), City & Guilds 2382(18TH Edition), COMPEX 1-4 and any other relevant industry qualifications.
