Job Title: Deputy Quality Assurance

Department: Quality Assurance

Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager / Head of QA

 

Position Overview

The Deputy Quality Assurance role supports the Quality Assurance Manager in overseeing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s quality systems, standards, and procedures. The position ensures products, services, and processes comply with internal policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. The role also acts as the QA lead in the absence of the QA Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management & Compliance

• Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Quality Management System (QMS).

• Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer specifications, and relevant industry regulations.

• Assist in maintaining certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 45001, or any sector-specific standards.

2. Auditing & Inspections

• Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits.

• Identify non-conformities, develop corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA), and follow up on implementation.

• Maintain accurate audit records and documentation.

3. Process Improvement

• Monitor processes to identify inefficiencies or recurring quality issues.

• Recommend and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product/service quality.

• Drive root-cause analysis and ensure timely closure of quality issues.

4. Data Analysis & Reporting

• Compile and analyze quality performance data (KPIs, defects, incidents, customer complaints).

• Prepare regular QA reports for management review.

• Develop dashboards or tracking tools to improve visibility of quality metrics.

5. Training & Awareness

• Support training programs for employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.

• Promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.

6. Documentation & Record Control

• Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating SOPs, work instructions, and quality manuals.

• Ensure proper documentation control and version management.

7. Stakeholder Coordination

• Collaborate with production, operations, procurement, HR, and other teams to address quality-related issues.

• Serve as a key point of contact for customer quality concerns when required.

• Represent QA in cross-functional meetings and committees.

8. Acting as QA Manager (as needed)

• Manage the QA team and QA operations during the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager.

• Make decisions regarding quality matters and escalate issues when necessary.

 

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Management, or related field.

• 3–7 years of experience in Quality Assurance or similar roles (depending on industry).

• Strong knowledge of QMS frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001).

• Experience with internal auditing, CAPA, and process improvement methodologies.

• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
