Due Diligence Associate

About the Role  

Wells Fargo is seeking a Due Diligence Associate. 

In this role, you will:

Engage with clients directly or indirectly through relationship managers to support meeting policies or regulatory requirements and focus on client satisfaction

Conduct comprehensive research and background investigations on transactions, individuals, entities, organizations or locations to identify and mitigate risks through documenting findings

Review basic issues, policies or procedures for which answers can be quickly obtained related to lower risk tasks and deliverables with narrower impact

Run periodic due diligence reporting supporting processes reflective of the current business environment

Gather and input data utilizing resources to identify documentation required to meet policy or regulatory requirements

Receive direction from supervisor and exercise judgment while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

6+ months of Due Diligence experience, or equivalent (including risk management, client service, operations support, or business process management) demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications: 

6+ months experience in AML/KYC, PEP, Risk management, investigation, fraud, financial crimes, compliance, and/or equivalent experience. High proficiency with investigative and due diligence tools such as Lexis Nexis, World Check, World Compliance, etc. An expert in the bank’s Customer Identification Program (CIP) and in-depth knowledge of investigation methodologies. Strong background investigation knowledge and experience High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etcOwn client onboarding process to mitigate risk through a due diligence process Participate in conducting less complex client due diligence processes, research and identify opportunities to mitigate risk Consult and provide support to interpret policies, guidelines and governance programs Support business in execution of due diligence reporting processes and controls Review and analyze client onboarding processes or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives Exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables Aggregate, evaluate and report results and escalate where necessary Present recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the due diligence function, policies, procedures and compliance requirements Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, managers and internal and external customers to resolve issues and achieve goals The Corporate PEP Team (CPT) is seeking a highly motivated and talented professional for a career opportunity as a Due Diligence Associate Due diligence activities may also include screening customers and prospects against Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) Additional roles and responsibilities include defining the scope of investigations, conducting special and international investigations, operate independently with minimum supervision, and effectively manage high volume work requests to meet performance expectations. Working knowledge of BSA/Due diligence, compliance, and risk management experience. Proven ability to make appropriate risk decisions involving complex circumstances with both business and customer impacts. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously. Exemplary problem-solving and communication (both written and oral) skills. Ability to manage a large workload, provide quality due diligence reports and cross-reference data and take action accordingly.
