We are looking for a Digital Technology Clinical Operations – Team Lead who is strategic, collaborative, and outcomes driven to join us in our Digital Technology – Clinical Patient Evidence team, based in our Brussels office in Belgium.
About the role
In this global role, you lead the digital transformation of clinical trial operations amongst broader UCB strategic transformation initiatives. You will drive the clinical operations digital portfolio, some built on the Veeva technology stack and other digital solutions in this space in shaping the strategy, prioritization, and delivery. You will manage a small team, set annual plans with digital leadership, and translate business needs into reliable, compliant solutions that improve study efficiency, data quality, and clinical sites centricity. You are the visible partner for stakeholders, overseeing budgets, governance, and continuous improvement across platforms such as the Clinical Trial Management System, electronic Trial Master File, study startup and disclosure solutions. The role is based in Brussels, Belgium, with occasional travel to the United States of America (North Carolina and or Atlanta) approximately twice per year.
Who you’ll work with
You will be working in a team that blends clinical operations expertise with digital delivery. Day to day, you partner with clinical leaders, study teams, data governance specialists, privacy and quality assurance colleagues, and enterprise technology engineers. You will collaborate with product owners and integration experts to plan, build and improve solutions, and with external vendors, including platform providers such as Veeva, to ensure robust outcomes. You are the visible counterpart for key stakeholders across Clinical Patient Evidence, turning needs into plans, aligning priorities and budgets, and coordinating delivery. You will foster an inclusive, high energy culture that values transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.
What you’ll do
Lead the digital roadmap for clinical operations aligned with business goals and regulatory needs Own lifecycle of solutions from concept through delivery, maintenance, and retirement Build strong partnerships across clinical, regulatory, quality assurance, privacy, and vendor teams Oversee platforms including electronic Trial Master File, Clinical Trial Management System, study startup and study disclosure Direct and develop a multidisciplinary team; set goals, coach, and enable accountability Deliver projects on time and within budget; manage risks and ensure audit ready compliance Implement data governance and security controls to protect integrity, quality and privacy
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field At least 10 years of experience in clinical or digital leadership within life sciences Deep understanding of clinical operations and how digital solutions improve efficiency Experience managing budgets, prioritization, and a small team of direct reports Proven stakeholder management and program management across global, cross functional environments Hands on experience with digital platforms for clinical trial operations including electronic Trial Master File and Clinical Trial Management System, etc... Expertise in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations, General Data Protection Regulation, and audit readiness Excellent communication skills, fluent in English is a must
