Job Title: Electrical DrafterJob Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Drafter to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will translate conceptual designs from engineers and architects into detailed, accurate CAD drawings for electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and schematics. This role ensures all electrical installations comply with safety regulations and industry codes. Responsibilities + Develop, modify, and manage 2D/3D electrical drawings using AutoCAD or SolidWorks. + Convert engineering sketches, specifications, and rough layouts into detailed, actionable diagrams. + Create electrical schematics, power distribution plans, and cable tray/conduit layouts. + Collaborate with engineers to interpret design requirements and resolve design problems. + Perform calculations to determine material requirements, such as wire sizes and conduit capacities. + Update 'as-built' drawings and maintain accurate documentation of design revisions. + Ensure all designs meet NEC (National Electrical Code) and company standards. Essential Skills + Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks). + Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles. + Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate degree in Drafting, Electrical Technology, or related field. + Proven experience as an Electrical Drafter. Work Environment The position is primarily based in a typical office environment, with occasional visits to job sites. It offers a long-term opportunity for growth, aiming for the candidate to learn about the industry and products, progressing into the engineering team. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
