Job Title: DrafterJob Description

The contract CAD Technician provides essential document management support for Substation Engineering. This role involves revising existing drawings from as-built field corrections and updating Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing packages under the guidance of the Document Manager. Documents include internal drawings, external vendor drawings, and supporting documents. After additional training, the position will assist in liaising between engineering and field personnel who construct or maintain company facilities.

ResponsibilitiesCreate and publish new Issued for Construction drawing packages.Gather technical information and up-to-date drawings for projects.Create new 3D material coded parts for electrical substation models.Use the Autodesk Vault 3D parts library to create 3D substation models.Generate drawings based on one-line and substation standards drawings.Essential SkillsProficiency in Autodesk CAD software.Several years of experience in CAD preferred.Education in the use of Autodesk CAD products.Proficiency in MS Office Suite.Good written and verbal communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsCustomer service and team-building skills are a plus.Persistence and a positive attitude are highly regarded.Self-checking for accuracy and willingness to accept guidance.Work Environment

Contract CAD Technician work is performed in an office environment, where travel is not required. However, optional field visits are available as a training opportunity. The focus is on detailed work, emphasizing accuracy over speed.

This is a Contract position based out of Topeka, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.33 - $43.33/hr.
