The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.1322.29. NG-MIP program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.
**Responsibilities for this internship position are:**
Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman – Military Internship Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for SkillBridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
**Goals -** transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.
**Objectives** - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission “Defining Possible” on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.

**DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:**
+ Has served at least 180 days on active duty
+ Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
+ Will receive an honorable discharge
+ Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
+ Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
+ Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a **Principal Engineering Planning Analyst** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. You will be responsible for coordinating the Northrop Grumman F-35 Aircraft Maintenance, Upgrade and Overhaul (MUO) CLS in supporting F-35 organizational maintenance at **MCAS Miramar, CA.**
Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or existing programs. Determines, monitors, and reviews costs, operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements. Supports and participates in negotiations with customers. Analyzes effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources. Resolves proposal preparation problems and assesses the progress against established plans and parameters. Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements.
The selected candidate will coordinate the touch labor personnel assigned to the depot level field team at MCAS Miramar and the daily aircraft production of all inducted mod aircraft. They will work with the operations manager in establishing hiring strategies and support the NG site manager with ensuring all technical training, quality, health and safety programs are aligned and resourced to execute the program Statement of Work (SOW).
**Other duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):**
+ Manages general services, repairs, and overhauls of aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure that aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight, ensuring all maintenance actions are properly documented.
+ Assign aircraft to the daily flight schedule, ensuring operational subsystems are capable of executing the assigned mission.
+ Creates and assigns work-orders in the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) and accomplishes aircraft safety of flight releases as required.
+ Candidate may supervise multiple maintenance disciplines in an integrated workforce environment that consists of Military and Lockheed Martin employees.
+ Ensure workforce follows appropriate technical instructions, NAMP 4790.2_series and NAMP 4790.35 local operating instructions.
+ Advises unit leadership and staff management on status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. Ensures good housekeeping and safety practices are enforced.
+ Considered candidates must be capable of working first (1st), second (2nd), or third (3rd) shift(s) dependent on customer needs.
+ Candidates should expect to depart on temporary duty assignments with short notice, dependent on customer or NGC CLS needs to include stateside or overseas. This may include certain military required health screenings and immunizations.
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Must have either a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of aircraft maintenance experience or a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience; or High School/GED and 10 years of aircraft maintenance experience
+ Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
+ Must be able to successfully complete and pass government required F-35 trainings (Advanced Technical Training and/or Cadre Course) for continued employment
+ Must be willing to provide temporarily support to our other CFT locations at: NAS Lemoore, MCAS Beaufort, MCAS Cherry Point, or MCAS Yuma should the need arise
+ Must have experience as an aircraft Safe-For-flight administrator
+ Experience with hardware and software change management through the application of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
+ Experience utilizing Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS), Logistics Control Number (LCN) bill of material (BOM), Electronic Equipment Logs (EEL), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Joint Service Technical Data (JTD), and Action Requests (AR)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Fighter aircraft MRO&U experience.
+ Advanced knowledge of Maintenance Control and Material Control responsibilities and associated COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 directives.
+ Advanced knowledge of Release Aircraft Safe for Flight under supervision (A Sheet Block 10 signed by Safe-for-Flight) to include Hot Pit/Hot Seat Evolutions (Block 8).
+ Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a team lead or supervisor.
+ F-35 or F-22, or other low observable (LO) program experience.
+ Proficient implementing Time Compliance Technical Directives (TCTD).
+ Proficient interpreting and analyzing modification engineering drawings and manufacturing/material process specifications.
+ Experience and working knowledge with F-35 sustainment tools; Product Data Manager (PDM), JSF Data Library (JDL), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS).
+ Knowledge and experience with program change/configuration management and associated change boards for processing change requests with retrofit implications.
+ Completion of Lockheed-Martin F-35 Release for Flight training.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Business Suite.
Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
