Job Title: Dock Lead

Job Description

The dock lead will be responsible for loading and unloading trailers of products using a sit-down forklift in a warehouse. This role involves handling product and requires heavy lifting up to 50lbs. The dock lead will work closely with a team of 5-6 employees, taking directions from the afternoon supervisor, training new employees, and occasionally covering for the supervisor during holidays. Additionally, the candidate will use a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for documenting shipments and inventory.

Responsibilities

Load and unload trailers using a sit-down forklift.Read and process orders, noting product locations on the bill of lading.Lead a team of 5-6 employees and provide training for new hires.Handle heavy lifting up to 50lbs and assist in manual labour when needed.Fill in for the supervisor during holidays or absences.Utilize a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for shipment and inventory documentation.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 2 years experience with sit-down forklifts.At least 1 year of experience in a team lead role.Forklift certification.Basic computer skills for email communication and data entry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

LTL and cross-dock experience.Experience with Raymond reach forklifts.

Work Environment

The work environment is a quiet warehouse dedicated to storing and distributing carpet and flooring products. The facility is safety-oriented with a strong emphasis on attention to detail. The shift runs from Monday to Friday, 1:00pm to 9:30pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.25 - $22.25/hr.
