Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO)

Location: Ponca City, OK

Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities: Collect blood and urine specimens using approved techniques and equipmentAccession patient and test information accurately into the Care 360 systemProcess and prepare all types of specimens for testingObtain billing information from patients and ICD-10 diagnosis information from clients, as neededCommunicate clearly, courteously, and professionally with internal teams, patients, and external customers


Qualifications:

Required Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of venipuncture techniques utilizing vacutainer needles and hubs, butterfly devices, safety needles, and syringes.

Required Experience:

Proven ability to collect blood specimens from patients of all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populationsAbility to manage a high patient volume efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality standardsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with all DLO departments and clientsProficiency in basic computer use, including keyboarding and data entry

Special Requirements: 

Flexibility with your schedule — you may occasionally need to start early or stay late to meet patient or client needsWillingness to travel or work at different locations if business needs changeAbility to lift and carry light to moderately heavy items (up to 40 lbs occasionally, with help for anything heavier)Comfortable sitting or standing for extended periods of timeAbility to perform hands-on, repetitive tasks throughout the day with good attention to detailComfortable using a computer and phone regularly

Physical and Mental Requirements:  

Lift light to moderately heavy objects.  The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects.  Objects in the weight range of 1 to 15 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects in the weight range of 16 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally and objects in the weight range of 26 to 40 pounds are seldom lifted and carried.  Objects exceeding 41 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time; requires long hours of eye and hand coordination. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently to constantly throughout the day. Position may require travel.                 Extensive use of phone and PC.                 Fine dexterity with hands/steadiness.  Talking.                   Walking.                                 Balancing.                              Bending/kneeling.            Pushing/pulling. Reaching/twisting.
