The District Sales Manager is responsible for influencing the dealer network and farming community to grow Agriculture Irrigation sales in the territory. Primary responsibilities include developing and executing account plans with Dealers; focusing on areas of product and technical specification training, local marketing, product influence, and other business development initiatives. This role must also focus on management of relationships with large farming entities, corporate accounts, and product influencers through the development and execution of long-term business growth plans and strategies.

ResponsibilitiesThis person is responsible for setting the direction and achieving desired sales results in the territory. This role requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented sales manager that strives to differentiate Rain Bird from its competitors by providing unrivalled customer service, high visibility, and a comprehensive call coverage cycle. The successful candidate will quickly achieve exceptional sales and market share growth with traditional agriculture irrigation dealers, large growers, and corporate accounts through successful execution of novel business development plans and strategies.
Achieve exceptional sales results and market share growth for the assigned territoriesInvestigate and dissect the market as it relates to market share, penetration and growth opportunities and develop an annual strategic plan to meet sales targets and corporate objectivesSuccessfully execute business development plans and develop accompanying financial analyses to ensure profitable sales growth and sound business decision-makingDevelop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term sales pipelines and secure Rain Bird installations at strategic, high value sitesEducate and influence dealers and growers on the value of Rain Bird’s agricultural products, their applications, and key benefits to drive product preference and customer solutionsWork closely with Marketing and assist the Agriculture division in determining market needs, competitive information and overall market trendsDifferentiate Rain Bird from its competitors by delivering superior customer experience, maintain high visibility with key accounts, and aggressive call coverage cycles to develop new businessImplement novel approaches to accelerate Rain Bird’s influence with growers and corporate farming customersCapability of becoming an accomplished leader who aspires for more responsibility and develops creative, customer-focused solutions to consistently achieve results and accelerate growth Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of outside sales experience Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and general business skillsStrong negotiating skills and ability to sell to large accounts with multiple stakeholdersMotivated, results-oriented, self-starters eager to take ownership of job requirements and accountability for successful resultsAbility to communicate effectively and credibly at all levels in the organizationAptitude for quantitative analysis, strategic thinking, and detailed planningPosition requires overnight business travel up to 60% of timeAt least one of the desired qualifications
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in the Agricultural irrigation industry, knowledge of Rain Bird products and applications, specification practices, Rain Bird’s organization, and competitive productsExperience in agronomy, wholesale distribution, business to business sales, or irrigation design and installationBilingual in Spanish
