Scope of Position The District Sales Manager (DSM) leads our District Sales Program. Through the development of our District Sales team, the DSM ensures a consistent and effective District Sales Program inside every one of our global offices. The DSM is responsible for supporting the growth of each product and service within the district as well as driving collaboration with the global network. The DSM is responsible for recruiting and developing sales executives both at entry and senior level positions in addition to maintaining an on-going pipeline of candidates. Through leading a vibrant District Sales Program and Sales team, the DSM maintains the momentum and Sales consistency which results in steady and ever-increasing revenue and market share growth for the district and the company. This position reports to the District Manager and Regional Sales Leader.   Key Deliverables   These are the three primary areas of focus for a District Sales Manager. The minimum results expected from a successful DSM are presented below by area. In addition to these, the DSM will be required to take on additional assignments as required to support company needs.   Lead Sales Program • Create and drive the tactical business plan to support company objectives • Sales of the sales team should be above 80% of total possible points on the President’s Club Scorecard: + Manage market data in order to create a district strategy + Review overall sales program on a quarterly basis • Optimal sales staffing: + Territory strategy aligned with district objectives + Plan on how to engage prospective customers • Collaborate with branch leadership to create a Sales strategy where everybody in the branch is part of the sales process.    Manage the Sales Department • Create and manage the sales budget • Lead weekly sales meetings • Manage CRM activity • Drive performance to meet revenue expectations • Monthly pipeline reviews with each sales executive • Pursue own customers if approved/applicable • Review all bids that are to be submitted to a customer on behalf of your district   Develop Sales Team • Recruiting and hiring to support optimal staffing level • Responsible for all training for required job skills • Weekly coaching sessions (this can be adjusted to bi-weekly for sales teams larger than five) • Quarterly performance reviews • Joint sales calls (minimum of four) each month with all Sales Executives (can be adjusted to bi-monthly for sales teams larger than five)       To be the most effective in this position we are looking for the following skills and experience:   + Strong oral communication, written communication and analytical skills + Strong presentation skills + Proficient in Microsoft Suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) + Experience operating and managing a CRM system + Align with Expeditors' 10 Culture Attributes + 5 years of management experience leading a commercial team of 3 or more + Proven record of closing sales (closer) + Ability to perform and meet sales KPI requirements for the team + Contract negotiations experience + Structured and organized + Effective at delegating + Charismatic with an ability to connect + Ability to understand local market and key industries present in the local market + Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. + Align with Expeditors’ 10 Culture Attributes   Behaviors: + Emotional resilience + Self-reflecting and open to feedback + Initiative and ability to work in autonomy + Role model of integrity and pride for all employees + Proven leadership attitude and background + Active learner and strong self-development attitude.   Expeditors offers excellent benefits: + Paid Vacation, Holiday + Health Plan: Medical + Employee Stock Purchase Plan + Training and Personnel Development Program + Growth opportunities within the company
