District Manager
Job Summary:Identify talent, developing capabilities and leadership in others, building a high performing and high potential teamProvide leadership, motivate team performance, execute corporate directives and develop strategies to maximize people developmentCoach and set sales targets for Sales Account ManagersTravel approximately 50% of time or as required to manage the needs of districtEnsure maximum sales coverage with resources available to achieve peak performance; put metrics in place to measure success over time.Allocate territories to appropriate sales executivesReport performance and sales results to appropriate managementResponsible for account managementCollaborate with other District Sales Managers to ensure sales goals are achievedMaintain detailed knowledge of the company’s service package & operational capabilitiesStay aware of competitor activityResponsible for all hiring, employee counseling, training and terminations: assuring they are processed according to proper guidelinesRegular attendance is required.This is not an all-inclusive list of job requirements and/or duties and may not contain all mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job at all times due to circumstances. Employees are expected, and must be able to perform all such duties and tasks.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background; Master’s Degree a plusMinimum of one to three years of experience in the LTL industry requiredMinimum of two years experience in management, preferably Sales ManagementPrevious sales and sales management experienceExcellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills; team oriented; conceptual/consultative sales skillsMust possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable MVR.Strong people management skillsStrong strategic plannerMust possess excellent communication skills and problem solving skillsMust be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the jobMust be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of ConductMust be able to interact well with othersMust be able to work independently, or in a team settingMust be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple prioritiesResponds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlinesMust pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background checkMust be authorized to work in the United StatesPhysical Demands:
