Position will direct other construction engineering functions involving difficult engineering work and make sound recommendations and decisions on engineering problems. The position will direct, supervise, and evaluate the work of engineers, engineering technicians, and administrative personnel. Additional responsibilities include fiscal and personnel management and serving as point of contact for local governments, planning organizations, and the general public to provide maintenance and construction information, coordination and service delivery. Position includes both administrative and management duties. Position is located in the Asheboro District Office. Ability to understand, explain, and administer contracts; interpret plans, provisions and specifications, policies, procedures, regulations and laws as well as strong written and verbal skills. Ability to prepare documents that are legally sound. Registration as a Professional Engineer by NC Board of Examiners for Engineers & Surveyors preferred. The selected applicant will be expected to legally operate a motor vehicle. Safety toe shoes are required for this position.
