Job Description
Decontaminates and processes equipment received in Central Sterile department. Replenishes hospital units with clean, safe equipment, meeting policy, procedure and disinfection parameters.
Job Responsibility
+ * Makes rounds during assigned shift to retrieve equipment according to established policies and procedures for safe handling
+ * Retrieves contaminated instruments used by patient care units.
+ * Disinfects equipment following established methods of cleaning and disinfection
+ * Tags and bags equipment to make available for future use by patient care areas.
+ * Maintains equipment inventory levels.Checks for expired preventive maintenance stickers and delivers expired equipment to clinical engineering for inspection
+ * Maintains equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations
+ * Assists with shipping and tracking of equipment sent out for repair
+ * Maintains tracking system of equipment arriving and exiting Central Sterile
+ * Answers telephone in a professional manner.Responds to requests and anticipates needs of various departments.
+ * Retrieves and restocks code carts and intubation boxes.
+ * Reports shortages of equipment to management for follow-up.
+ * Assists with physical equipment inventory and may report at bed-flow, as assigned.
+ Performs related duties as required.
*ADA Essential Functions
+ Moving, lifting heavy objects (risk is minimal when proper precautions are used)
+ Constant standing and walking.
Job Qualification
+ High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
+ Minimum one (1) year healthcare experience decontaminating and disinfecting of medical equipment, preferred.

The salary range for this position is $24.741-$26.6047/hour
