Distribution Designer

Job Title: Distribution Designer - REMOTE

Job Description

Join our dynamic team, providing critical infrastructure and engineering services for power delivery, gas, and water customers. We specialize in the design and engineering of overhead and underground electric distribution networks, offering end-to-end solutions for power, oil & gas pipeline, and gas distribution industries.

Responsibilities

Perform design work for aerial and underground electric distribution networks.Apply design standards for underground and aerial pole line cable plant, joint use design, pole replacements, primary service, and reliability/maintenance design.Produce and review preliminary and final design drawings, bill of materials, cost estimates, traffic control plans, and utility layout, routing, and distribution system documentation.Prepare engineering calculations and apply relevant distribution design codes and standards.Coordinate with utilities and utility customers regarding project requirements.Ensure engineering activities support project schedule, contractual requirements, and construction needs.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, drafters, and other designers.Train or mentor junior designers and engineers as needed.Conduct field visits to collect data, measurements, and documentation required for accurate utility design and electrical distribution.

Essential Skills

Experience with Automated Utility Design (AUD) or ARCFM.Experience working on Dominion Projects.1+ years of experience in design of electric utility network distribution systems.Ability to work in the field to collect data when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Strong proficiency in CAD and electrical design.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.

Work Environment

Work will primarily be completed on a computer remotely, with occasional field work required for data collection - very rarely.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $43.00/hr.
