Job Title: Distribution Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Distribution Designer to join our team. In this role, you will develop site designs for overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities, ensuring the highest standards of safety and service reliability. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to support our business goals and those of our clients.

Responsibilities

Apply company and client policies and procedures for developing site designs for electrical distribution facilities, including reconductoring, conversions, cable replacement, customer, and reliability jobs.Conduct site visits, including field notes, visual inspection, equipment inventory, measurements, and field conditions using electronic tools.Prepare site drawings and construction sketches using MicroStation and GNetviewer for various installations of electrical facilities in a cost-effective manner.Develop project or job packages in Expert Designer and BOUD design software, including material estimates and requisitions.Ensure project designs adhere to company and client standards for safe and cost-effective installations.Maintain accurate records and update company and client GIS systems.Build relationships with customers, builders, developers, electricians, utilities, and city officials.Support business goals and expectations while representing the company positively and professionally.

Essential Skills

1+ years of experience in electric distribution drafting/designProficiency in design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and CADStrong communication skills with co-workers, management, and customersAbility to work effectively in a team-based environmentAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with MicroStationDegree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
