Job Title: Dispatch ClerkJob Description

We are seeking a Dispatch Clerk to oversee towing operations and ensure timely performance goals are met. The role involves managing tow truck resources, assigning work to optimize productivity, and planning future resource needs. The ideal candidate will coordinate with towers to schedule necessary truck resources and identify when demand exceeds capacity, referring to part-time networks for additional resources as needed.

ResponsibilitiesDirect activities related to towing operations and on-time performance goals.Manage tow truck resources and assign work to optimize productivity.Plan future day resource needs and coordinate with towers to schedule required truck resources.Identify when demand exceeds capacity and refer to part-time networks for additional resources as needed.Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.Recruit new towers to build towing networks.Provide necessary documentation to drivers for each pickup/delivery.Monitor work-in-progress and make adjustments as needed to ensure timely performance.Escalate any transportation issues to management.Form relationships with the transportation team.Review and analyze reports on transportation activity, including time performance metrics.Essential Skills1+ year of dispatch experience (911, taxi, tow truck, etc.).Strong communication skills and command of English, both written and spoken.Customer service experience (retail, hospitality, call center).Proficiency in MS Office.Reliable transportation.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience as a tow truck dispatcher for a large fleet.Prior high volume dispatch experience, dispatching approximately 50 outcalls daily.Experience dealing with insurance companies.Bilingual language skills would be a bonus.Confidence and customer focus.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Critical thinking capabilities and adaptability to changing circumstances.Excellent follow-up skills.Work Environment

The position is based in an office environment with an open concept, housing approximately 12 people. The dress code is business casual. The location is not transit accessible, and you will be working with two other dispatchers to handle approximately 150+ calls daily. Interaction with towing vendors is required in the office. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM (40-hour week).
