The approximate date of this internship is June 2026 to January 2027, located in Orlando, FL.
What You Will Do
As part of the Character Programs & Development Digital Design team, we collaborate with Digital Sculptors, Materials Teams, and production partners/vendors to help inform production capabilities, limitations, and consider the potential cost impact of design, production, and technology choices. The Industrial Design Intern will help build production-ready digital assets, technical drawings, and specs of varied products to bring characters to life across all Disney Parks, Resorts & Cruise Ships, worldwide.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Ability to proficiently build/communicate design concepts through 3D design software while showcasing innovative and creative design solutions, with a strong emphasis on complex CAD surface modeling and designAbility to process ideas through physical prototyping/mockup creation with strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and product development methodologiesEffective understanding of the detailed relationship between aesthetics/function and ergonomics, human factors, and user experiencePreferred Qualifications
Proficiency in 3D CAD Software. (e.g. Solidworks, Autodesk Fusion360, Rhino)Recognizable passion for 3D Printing, model making, Toy Design, 3D scanning, Costume Design, prop making, etc.Experience with digital sculpting tools (e.g. Zbrush, Blender, Maya)Collaborative problem solver with the ability to communicate/work with cross-functional teamsRequired Materials

Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student level with a degree in: Industrial Design, Product Design, Toy Design, Themed Entertainment Design, Animatronics, or Mechanical EngineeringEligibility Requirements & Program Information

The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $18.75 per hour.
