The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center is seeking passionate and detail-oriented individuals to join our culinary operations as Stewarding Supervisors. This is more than just a job—it’s a chance to be part of the heartbeat of our hotel, supporting the culinary and food service teams in delivering exceptional experiences to our guests.

We currently have openings for AM (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) shift. Hours may vary based on business needs.

This is a hands-on leadership role—you’ll work side-by-side with your team, inspiring excellence through training, motivation, and example.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead daily operations of the Stewarding Department with a focus on cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.

Foster a positive team culture through mentorship, coaching, and accountability.

Ensure sanitation standards are met across all kitchen and storage areas.

Maintain and report equipment issues; coordinate with Engineering as needed.

Oversee inventory, requisitions, and chemical ordering.

Monitor and maintain dish machines, ice machines, and other kitchen equipment per SOP.

Support opening, closing, and deep-cleaning procedures.

Communicate effectively with culinary leadership and stewarding teams.

Uphold safety protocols and hygiene standards at all times.

What are we looking for?

Previous stewarding experience required.

Supervisory experience preferred.

A pleasant and engaging personality—someone who enjoys meeting new people and building team morale.

Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.

Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical ability to:

Move, traverse, and position yourself to reach corners and high places.

Detect odors and observe conditions.

Navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces.

Operate cleaning equipment (spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, scrub pads, etc.).

Lift, carry, and position loads of at least 25 lbs.
