What we need:
The Director of Sustainability - Sales & Customer Engagement will lead the development and integration of sustainability messaging across Mohawk's customer engagement platforms, including the Mohawk Experience and trade show communications. This role will collaborate closely with sales to embed sustainability into client interactions and create impactful marketing collateral that reflects the company's progress and future goals.
What you’ll do:
Develop and implement a comprehensive Sustainability communication strategy aligned with the company's values, goals, and industry best practices. Translate technical certifications into accessible, commercially valuable materials that strengthen client relationships. Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate sustainability into business planning, decision-making, and performance metrics. Lead efforts to minimize the company's environmental footprint through energy efficiency improvements, resource conservation, and waste reduction initiatives. Oversee the creation of continuing education units (CEUs) and training modules to equip the sales team with the knowledge and tools to advocate for sustainability Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and optimization. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress towards sustainability goals and targets. Launch and manage the Sustainability Ambassadors program, cultivating internal champions to promote sustainable practices. Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability and corporate responsibility. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in sustainability practices, technologies, and initiatives. Serve as a thought leader and advocate for Sustainability both internally and externally, representing the company in industry forums, conferences, and working groups. Perform other duties as needed.
What you have:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred. 10+ years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of management experience. Experience within the built environment (e.g., interiors, exterior manufacturing, A&D, construction, or adjacent sectors) is strongly preferred.

Translating complex sustainability data, certifications, and standards into clear, compelling value propositions for customers and sales teams. Building strong parternships across Sales, Marketing, R&D, Operations, and Leadership to align sustainability with commercial priorities. Communicating confidently with both technical experts and business leaders, serving as a trusted "translator" between functions. Devloping customer-facing materials, presentations, and training that drive engagement and support revenue growth. Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. Able to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively. High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data. Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products. High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.

This role will be located in Calhoun, GA - with a hybrid schedule (4 in-office/1 remote). Travel required
