The Director – Hunter (FSI) is responsible for originating, shaping and closing large, multi-portfolio, multi-year deals with priority Financial Services clients (banking, insurance, capital markets) in Singapore.
The role focuses on new logo acquisition and large wallet-share expansion in selected strategic accounts, by taking NTT DATA’s full stack of services (Applications, Cloud, Cyber Security, Data & AI, BPS and Infrastructure) to C-suite stakeholders and building transformational solutions that address their business outcomes.
The role is expected to align closely to the targeted FSI accts pursued by local FSI consulting team and provide the technical consulting and subject matter expertise to land the pull through
Key Responsibilities
1. Deal Strategy, Origination and Qualification
Build and execute a focused hunting strategy for FSI in Singapore, including target market segments, white-space analysis, and priority accounts.Identify and prioritize new logos and “must-win” pursuits based on propensity to buy, strategic fit to NTT DATA portfolio, and long-term growth potential.Partner with Client Managers to co-own account penetration and large deal pursuits; contribute deeply to account planning with enterprise-wide FSI perspectives.Seed and shape opportunities through executive briefings, visioning workshops, and joint innovation sessions with C-suite and line-of-business leaders.Rapidly qualify opportunities for deal size, complexity, competitive intensity and strategic relevance; decide where to invest pursuit resources.2. Deal Leadership, Structuring and Closure
Act as the Deal Lead for strategic, large, complex or highly competitive deals, owning the end-to-end pursuit from qualification through to commercial closure.Orchestrate multi-disciplinary NTT DATA teams (consulting, solution architects, delivery, finance, legal, risk, operations) to design best-in-class solutions.Shape solution, commercial structure and risk profile to align with client business outcomes, including innovative pricing models (managed services, consumption/usage, gain-share, outcome-based).Lead development of compelling value propositions and differentiated proposals; ensure clear articulation of business value, innovation roadmap, and TCO/ROI.Drive negotiations with client executives, procurement, finance and legal to achieve balanced commercial terms and timely deal closure.Leverage ecosystem partners (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, FinTechs, ISVs, advisory partners) to strengthen the proposition and expand the total deal value.3. Client Leadership and Industry Advisory
Become a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders (CEO, COO, CIO, CDO, CRO, CISO, Heads of Retail/Corporate Banking, CFO, Chief Actuary, etc.).Demonstrate deep understanding of FSI industry value chains, regulatory context and business models (e.g. BIAN, open banking, real-time payments, embedded finance, digital insurance).Proactively identify and evangelize transformation themes such as core modernization, cloud migration, data platform and AI, AML/KYC, risk and compliance, customer experience, digital channels and ecosystem integration.Steward NTT DATA’s reputation in the account by ensuring strong delivery hand-off, executive governance and in-contract innovation for large installed bases.4. Portfolio Ideation and Internal Leadership
Provide structured feedback to NTT DATA service lines on FSI client needs, competitor moves and emerging trends to inform portfolio and solution roadmap.Co-create industry propositions (solution blueprints, reference architectures, accelerators) with portfolio teams and alliance partners.Mentor and coach account teams and solution leaders on large deal strategy, storytelling, value articulation and negotiation.Contribute to pipeline governance, forecast accuracy and regional growth planning; actively participate in regional and global deal review forums.Knowledge and Skills
Deep understanding of FSI value chains across banking and insurance: retail, corporate and investment banking, payments, trade finance, wealth and asset management, life and general insurance.Strong appreciation of core FSI solutions: core banking, payments modernisation, cards, risk and compliance, AML/KYC, treasury, claims, policy admin, digital channels, data and analytics.Clear point of view on key trends: open banking, instant payments, cloud-native cores, platform banking, AI/ML and GenAI in FSI, financial crime prevention, ESG and regulatory reporting.Strong commercial acumen: P&L awareness, financial modelling, pricing strategies, deal structuring and risk management across CapEx, OpEx, and consumption models.Excellent executive communication, storytelling and facilitation skills; able to lead C-suite workshops and steer complex stakeholder groups.Track record of orchestrating cross-functional, multi-geography teams to win competitive deals.Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or related discipline;MBA or equivalent executive management qualification preferred.15+ years of total experience, including 5+ years focused on selling and closing large, complex FSI transformation deals in APAC.Strong connections and knowledge of the FSI industryCareer background in global SIs, hyperscalers, tier-1 banks/insurers, or strategy / technology consulting firms.Demonstrated track record of leading multi-million, multi-year deals from origination through to closure with C-suite sponsorship.Experience working with or alongside hyperscaler cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) and key FSI ISVs/FinTech partners.Evidence of sustained C-suite engagement, strong internal and partner networks, and the ability to influence without direct authority.Workplace type:
