THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE 

 

The People Success (PS) Director Distribution (DC) will act as a business partner in support of all PS functions including associate engagement, recruitment, training, compensation, associate relations, management coaching, retention, recognition, performance management and legal compliance. This position will enhance organizational effectiveness by aligning human resources with supply chain goals and business strategies. The Director of PS DC will consult as a critical business partner and trusted advisor to Supply Chain & Distribution leadership. The role will also lead and direct PS teams supporting multiple locations within the Supply Chain function.

 

The Director of PS Distribution Centers (DC) will be instrumental in driving and partnering with client groups and PS Centers of Excellence (COE’s) in order to drive business results that align with our mission, vision, and values. The PS Director DC is a conduit of information as it flows from the DC’s to PS and from PS back out to the DC’s while ensuring consistency, scalability, and regional alignment across multiple sites.

 

This role is responsible for integrating the people perspective into the strategic plan and org structure for a geographically dispersed, high-volume hourly workforce environment.

 

The Director of PS DC will partner with the business leaders to create an effective and integrated strategy for advancing the business. Through partnership, the PS Director DC will gain deep knowledge of the business, people and organizational needs and is able to diagnose issues and recommend solutions to complex challenges. This role is responsible for developing business and PS strategies and initiatives by partnering to diagnose business challenges, exploring alternative solutions and recommending best-fit solutions, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency/effectiveness to support the guest and business strategy with a strong emphasis on execution, operational cadence, and leader capability at scale.

Talent Development/Leadership Development

Build organizational capabilities by partnering with leaders to identify ways to build talent capabilities at all levels while identifying opportunities for training and developmentLead Succession Planning process, talent calibration, culture survey action planning, goal setting and rollout, performance review consultation, and IDP creation and executionPartner with Talent Management COE and business senior leadership in managing proper succession and high potential planning that works alongside our defined strategy and needs of the businessAdvise leadership on organizational design, change management and overall organizational effectiveness (conduct ongoing reviews and propose changes to enhance operations)Provide talent consultation related to career development and growthDrive strategic workforce planning and manage headcount process; recruit for People Success and Operations Management positions for the buildings in the divisionAdminister associate performance management programs, plans and advises the assigned organization’s management in the carrying out of performance management and associate development plansSupport new distribution center launch readiness, including org design, leadership selection, onboarding strategy, and culture integration

Compensation Management 

Partner to identify and address opportunities to leverage compensation as a differentiator Works with management for assigned organization on compensation issuesCollaborates with Compensation team to ensure jobs are accurately written, evaluated and total compensation is competitive based on internal and external marketplaceProvide function oversight to annual compensation process for both merit and bonus planningGuide compensation decisions for leadership hires and promotions Identify any compensation issues and recommend solutions such as market adjustments, retention strategiesPartner with compensation to determine job evaluations and provide feedback on job requirements and org structureProvide guidance on regional labor market dynamics, wage strategy, and competitive practices across multi states

Training

Manages and delivers various training for associates and senior leadership to help achieve business strategies Identify training gaps and partner with business to determine to a training solutionFacilitate and create department offsite, leadership assimilation session and custom team development activitiesLead leadership assimilation and integration for new senior leaders and newly opened facilities

Associate Relations

Manages associate care and support with associates and managers to address root causes of issues and resolve through a systematic and analytical approach, including investigationsIn partnership with Associate Relations determines issues, identify action plan and responsible to ensure that action plan is successful and aligns with policy and proceduresServe as a senior escalation point for complex, high-risk associate relations matters across multiple sites

HR Support

Leverage the COE Corporate PS groups, proactively partners with broader HR team to share best practices, PS strategy / delivery, and to identify ways to better serve our business and guest strategiesProvides feedback to other Human Resources peers on business needs and industry competitive trendsEnsure continual performance improvement within the function, driving processes to facilitate improvementSupport business leaders to ensure associate processes, policies and practices enable associate engagement and leadership effectivenessLead and develop a high-performing regional People Success team, including Directors, Managers, and site-level partnersAbility to travel up to 25% is required

THE ESSENTIALS OF SUCCESS 

 

Bachelor's degree in related field and/or relevant work experience in an HR support role10 plus years in increasingly responsible Human Resources roles including direct involvement with senior business executives in high growth environments; preferably at the Senior Manager and above levelMust have a heavy emphasis on Org Design, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, HR Strategy, Succession Leadership Development and Driving ChangeAbility to successfully work under pressure and handle multiple highly sensitive issues and manage competing priorities while being agile and adaptableExceptional communication and interpersonal skills; leader with dedication to the ongoing development of the company and HR departmentExperience supporting large, hourly, multi-site operations (distribution, manufacturing, logistics preferred)Experience with new site openings, scale-up environments, or rapid growth strongly preferredStrong experience in the creation and execution of communication strategiesPossesses both strategic thinking capability and “hands on” HR plan implementation experienceStrong influence and ability to interact (Senior Leaders), interpersonal skills and overall leadership capabilityStrong conceptual ability coupled with a proven track record of implementing HR and organization initiativesAbility to think strategically, synthesize business data and develop innovative and holistic HR solutions that are forward thinking and growth orientedResilience to work within a complex organization and find creative solutionsProven collaboration skills with the ability to gain consensus through personal influenceDemonstrated ability to invite diverse perspectives, promote an inclusive work environment and support workforce diversityWillingness to work and integrate with multiple partnersDemonstrated integration and strategic planning skillsDemonstrated written and verbal communication skillsAbility to travel up to 25% is required
 

The pay range for this position is $143,000.00 - $185,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
