Director Organizational & Leadership Development

Title: Director, Learning & Development (CREATE)

Location: Boston Heights, OH

Reports To: VP, Talent Acquisition + Development

Description:

At Arhaus, we believe in shaping experiences that inspire growth, not simply delivering programs. The Director of Learning & Development (CREATE - Curriculum and Resources to Elevate Associates Through Engagement) is a senior leader within Talent responsible for defining, evolving, and scaling how we develop leaders, strengthen organizational capability, and elevate the associate experience across the enterprise.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, culture, and execution—architecting leadership frameworks, organizational development strategies, and learning ecosystems that bring our pillars to life at every associate touchpoint. With a strong point of view and a collaborative mindset, this leader blends creativity with rigor, autonomy with partnership, and vision with disciplined follow-through.

We are seeking a culture shaper and systems thinker—a leader who can diagnose organizational needs, design thoughtful solutions, and inspire leaders at all levels to grow, perform, and lead with intention. This is a role for someone who understands that world-class development is not transactional; it is deeply human, measurable, and transformative.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Organizational & Leadership Development Strategy Set the enterprise strategy for leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and capability building across all levels of the organization. Define and evolve Arhaus’s leadership philosophy, competencies, and development framework, ensuring alignment with business priorities and cultural pillars. Serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders on leadership effectiveness, change, and organizational design. CREATE Learning Architecture & Curriculum Architect and oversee best-in-class learning journeys, curriculum, and experiences that support both individual growth and enterprise capability needs. Ensure learning solutions are grounded in organizational diagnostics, business insight, and future skill requirements—not generic programming. Curate and evolve a dynamic learning ecosystem that integrates live experiences, digital content, coaching, and experiential learning. Shape the Associate Journey Lead and support the full vision for onboarding - including orientations, support leader integrations, and all experiences that shape an associate’s first moments with Arhaus. Partner cross-functionally to ensure every touchpoint reflects our values, high standards, and commitment to a best-in-class associate experience. Build Systems & Measure Impact Oversee learning technologies, platforms, and tools to ensure seamless delivery and access. Establish meaningful metrics, KPIs, and ROI frameworks to measure and communicate program effectiveness. Drive career pathing, skills mapping, and capability development in partnership with HR. Internal Communications & Associate Narrative Establish and own the enterprise standard for internal communications related to leadership development, learning, and organizational initiatives. Shape the associate narrative by translating strategy into clear, compelling, and culturally resonant communication. Partner with HR, Marketing, and business leaders to ensure messaging is aligned, consistent, and thoughtfully timed. Ensure learning and leadership communications reflect a high taste level in content, design, and storytelling, reinforcing what makes Arhaus special. Create frameworks and rhythms for communication that support change, growth, and engagement—not just information delivery. Collaborate for the Future Partner with Talent, HR, and business leaders to understand capability needs, align learning strategies, and support enterprise-wide initiatives. Maintain strong vendor relationships and oversee selection, customization, and implementation of external learning solutions. Stay current with emerging trends and bring forward innovative, creative approaches to development.

Requirements:

10+ years of experience leading organizational development, leadership development, or enterprise learning strategies, ideally in a premium retail, lifestyle, or high-growth environment.  7+ years of people leadership experience with a proven ability to coach, influence, and inspire at senior levels. Deep expertise in leadership frameworks, organizational diagnostics, assessments, change management, and capability development. Demonstrated ability to design and scale curriculum and development experiences that are both creative and business-relevant. Exceptional executive presence, storytelling, and communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization. Strong creative sensibility and high taste level for content, experience design, and internal communications. Highly strategic yet hands-on—able to move seamlessly from vision-setting to execution.
