The App Platform is how customers experience and extend Splunk—turnkey solutions, integrations, content packs, and extensions that unlock new use cases and accelerate time-to-value. As we move into an AI-first future, customers will increasingly interact through intelligent agents that ingest data, search, analyze, and act. The platform must enable these agent experiences with secure, scalable, and trusted app execution; curated discovery; and developer-centric tooling that fuels a vibrant ecosystem. This is a product-led platform where network effects multiply value for customers and developers, and where governance, quality, and monetization create a high-trust marketplace for outcomes. 

Your Impact 

You will lead the end-to-end engineering execution of the App Platform across Krakow and US teams. You will: 

Set a high-reaching technical vision for a secure, unified, self-service platform that meets developers where they are and delights customers with trusted, effortless app experiences. 

Build and scale a multi-manager, multi-site organization that ships with velocity and reliability. 

Partner with senior leaders from Product, Security, SRE, and Developer Relations to drive roadmap outcomes, ecosystem growth, and operational excellence. 

Champion product thinking—clarity of outcomes, quality over output, and metrics that reflect real customer and developer value. 

Product Leadership 

Define and communicate a platform vision that centers on customer outcomes and Intelligent Apps with AI experiences. 

Partner with Product Management on strategy, roadmaps, and prioritization; translate business goals into clear technical bets and measurable critical metrics. 

Evolve the platform to “marketplace for outcomes” with curated discovery, strong governance, and important incentives. 

Engineering Execution 

Ship unified app management experiences (install, update/rollback, uninstall) that are predictable, self-service, and consistent across environments. 

Deliver developer-centric AI App SDKs and tooling (testing, packaging, CI/CD, IDE extensions) that standardize and simplify app building. 

Build secure-by-design app execution with isolation, resource/network controls, and a path to full app layer separation. 

Operations and Reliability 

Own availability, performance, and organisational change for platform services; set and meet high-reaching SLOs. 

Institutionalize incident response and post-incident learning; drive down operational risk and app-related incidents. 

Automate governance and quality enforcement to scale trust and reduce manual overhead. 

People and Organization 

Hire, develop, and retain exceptional managers and senior engineers; develop an inclusive, outcome-oriented culture. 

Establish clear operating rhythms across time zones; align multi-functionally with executive collaborators. 

Manage capacity, budgets, vendor partnerships, and program governance to deliver at scale.

A unified, reliable app management experience that customers trust to run autonomously. 

Modern developer tooling and SDKs that materially improve developer satisfaction and velocity. 

Curated, high-quality app discovery with clear trust signals and governance automation. 

Demonstrable progress toward secure app isolation and simplified, consistent operations across deployment types. 

Strong multi-functional alignment and a high-performing, empowered engineering organization. 

Minimum Qualifications

15+ years building large-scale platforms; 6+ years leading multiple managers and multi-site teams. 

Strong technical foundation in distributed systems and service reliability engineering 

Executive-level communication and collaborator management; adept at aligning strategy across Product, Security, SRE, and GTM teams. 

Experience operating in fast-paced environments, with the ability to make high-impact decisions with ambiguity 

Product approach: ability to define outcomes, prioritize boldly, and measure impact with clear critical metrics. 

Deep experience creating developer platforms (SDKs, testing frameworks, packaging, CI/CD, deployment) and automated quality enforcement. 

Operational leadership of high-availability SaaS: SLOs/SLAs, incident management, change control. 

Proficiency in modern languages and systems (e.g., Python, Go, C++; Kubernetes and cloud services). 

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. 

Preferred Qualifications 

Experience with AI-enabled developer tooling and agent frameworks; semantic search, RAG, and LLM integrations. 

Background in security or observability platforms; familiarity with marketplace dynamics and partner ecosystems. 

Track record evolving platforms into curated marketplaces with monetization, entitlement, and licensing. 

Hands-on knowledge of policy engines, static/multifaceted analysis, and scalable governance automation.
