As a Director of Software Engineering of 55ip at JP Morgan Chase, you will act as a experienced leader of software development on its client-facing and data applications across its investment management platform that serves investment advisory (RIA) & wealth management firms. You will leverage your deep expertise to successfully designed, delivered and maintained large-scale systems for the financial services and / or capital markets’ domain. You need to successfully demonstrate the ability to lead and manage multiple teams that develop, maintain and support cloud-hosted software. You will work collaboratively across various technical domains, utilizing your cross-functional expertise to promote the adoption and execution of technical strategies within diverse teams. Your role is vital in sustaining the firm's leadership in industry trends, best practices, and technological advance.
Job Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and deliver 55ip’s client and data applications end-to-end.Build, organize, and mentor teams to achieve success.Partner with stakeholders to ideate, define, and deliver a scalable product roadmap.Prioritize and allocate resources to efficiently meet the firm’s technology objectives.Govern and iteratively enhance the SDLC, coding standards, and testing quality.Ensure compliance of teams and products with the firm’s Security and Controls policies.Develop strategic organizational forecasts and plans.Prepare and execute hiring, training, and retention programs in collaboration with HR.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer, Electronic or IT Engineering.Recent experience in successfully leading & mentoring technology teams.Passion for designing architecture and delivering to production large scale, user-focused, n-tier applications.Thoughtful and proficient at communicating with all stakeholders.Demonstrable ability and empathy in managing people and their development. Real-world command of Object Oriented Programming and Software design patterns.Hands-on experience in governing Agile Scrum, and promoting high coding standards.Exposure to implementing industry standard cybersecurity & technology controls.An understanding of organization cost forecasting and strategic planning.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
Domain expertise in wealth management, capital markets or trading applications will be strongly preferred.Master’s degree or MBA (or equivalent) would be preferred.
